These depend on ingredients such as extract of green tea and grapefruit. These are great for people who are sensitive to caffeine.
  • Carb blockers do exactly what their name implies; they stop carbohydrates from reaching your blood stream and this results in less chance of gaining weight from food. Most carb blocker pills average 35-40 grams of carbohydrate blocking power. The main ingredient in all these pills is phaseolamin, this is actually an extract from white kidney beans that attaches to the carbohydrate preventing it from being absorbed during digestion.
  • Fat blockers prevent saturated fats from being absorbed by the digestive system. They often contain a substance derived from the exoskeletons of shellfish. It is called chitosan and is similar to dietary fiber. As fibers do, they pass through the digestive system without being digested, but are also supposed to absorb 6 to 10 times its weight in fat along the way.
  • Thyroid regulators are supplements than help reduce body fat and increase metabolism over a short period. Before you begin a regular regimen of them please see your doctor for a simple blood test that can tell if you might be hyper or hypo thyroidic and need to adjust the package dosing directions accordingly. The thyroid gland is responsible for regulating the speed of fuel consumption for bodily functions, maintaining body temperature and controlling metabolic rate.
  • Appetite Suppressants are very simply put medications or supplements that act on brain tricking it into believing it's not hungry or that it's full. There are numerous amounts of appetite suppressants on the market both natural and synthetic. Some of these include everyday things such as water and coffee and a natural substance called Hoodia. Hoodia is a cactus like plant that grows in the semi-desert areas of the world such as south Africa. It is not a cheap fix but bought and taken as directed, effective.
